The Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH), established in 1983, is one of the largest research centers in Greece with well-organized facilities, highly qualified personnel and a reputation as a top-level research foundation worldwide. FORTH comprises six Research Institutes and reports to the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs.
The R&D activities of FORTH/ICE-HT are concentrated along three major fields:
- Nanotechnology & Materials
- Energy & Environment
- Biosciences & Biotechnology
ICE-HT produces ~130 publications per year in refereed journals and its publications receive more than 3000 citations per year. The Institute conducts collaborative projects with numerous industrial enterprises, universities and research institutes from Greece, other EU-member countries, USA, and Japan and is a member of Graphene Flagship, FCH JU and the European Membrane House. The Institute possesses proper administration infrastructure for financial management of EC projects and strong experience in project management implementing more than 40 EC and 100 nationally funded projects over the last 10 years.
